2021 China International Fashion expo (CHIC) has been postponed to October

Affected by the epidemic prevention and control, 2021 China International Garment Expo (CHIC), originally scheduled to be held in Shanghai Hongqiao National Convention and Exhibition Center from August 25 to 27, was postponed to October 9 to 11. About 500 Chinese fashion brands have registered to participate in this event, which is expected to attract nearly 60000 visitors.
Chen Dapeng, President of chic and China Garment Association, said: “as the most important exhibition in China’s fashion industry, the safety of all exhibitors and visitors is our top priority. Therefore, we decided to postpone the next chic held in Shanghai to October to support the fight against the epidemic and ensure that all stakeholders can participate in the activities safely and effectively. ”
After the outbreak of the epidemic, CHIC insisted on holding it in physical form in compliance with safety and health regulations, and set up multiple online platforms to combine on-site display with digital communication.
This year, CHIC will organize a series of seminars and workshops, including “recognition and new opportunities of new retail in AI fashion”, “2021 maker of Silk Road & Innovation of design infinity” “Innovation and entrepreneurship competition of China Textile & Apparel SME”, etc.
This CHIC is part of the 2021 autumn joint exhibition of China Textile Federation, which also includes: China international textile fabrics and accessories (autumn and winter) Expo, China International Home Textiles and accessories (autumn and winter) Expo, China International Textile yarn (autumn and winter) exhibition and China International Knitting (autumn and winter) Expo. These activities are also postponed to be held in Shanghai from October 9 to 11.
Founded in 1993, chic is one of the largest and most influential professional clothing brand fairs in Asia. In order to further open the fashion retail industry clusters in South China, Hong Kong and Macao, chic has added an exhibition area in Shenzhen as the “Dawan District International Clothing Expo”, and the next session will be held in Shenzhen from November 3 to 5.
China’s fashion market is continuing to flourish. In the first half of this year, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 23%, including 13.9% in the second quarter. The growing middle class has further promoted the high-end trend of China’s fashion market. It is expected that the middle class will account for 65% of Chinese families by 2027. High quality niche brands are especially popular with young Chinese consumers.
